Research

Our group is focused on the synthesis of hybrid nanomaterials involving carbon nanostructures (carbon nanotubes and graphene), conducting polymers (polyaniline and polythiophene), insulating polymers (natural rubber), prussian blue and its analogues and metal nanoparticles. The group is a pioneer on the development of a new route to prepare thin, transparent and free standing films assembled on liquid-liquid interfaces, capable to be deposited on several kinds of substrates. The new materials are deeply characterized by many techniques, always wondering the application of them in different fields of research, like in photovoltaic, electrochromic and energy storage devices, sensors, conducting, transparent substrates and so on.
